The house for Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. was built in 1907 in Lyons, Kansas, and is currently being renovated specifically to meet scrapbookers’ wants and desires. The house has beautiful inlaid wood floors, two incredible fireplaces, a huge dining room, and a warm cozy living room. We can accommodate 12 persons in the four bedrooms, all with single beds so you do not have to sleep with some one else. Best of all though is the more than 1100 square foot cropping room behind the house – only two steps off the back deck – and generously stocked with tools and supplies for your use. Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. is open for scrapbooking guests 50 weekends a year with the exception of Easter weekend and the weekend closest to Christmas. One week in each month we will have a midweek retreat, Monday through Wednesday, as we realize that some people are unable to come during the weekend for one reason or another.
Hostesses will be here at all times to cater to your every need and to insure that you have a great time. We will not be intrusive but will check in from time to time to see if you need anything or to bring you more snacks. You can arrive as early as 1:00 p.m. on Friday. We will have appetizers late afternoon to get you to dinner about 7:00 p.m. Supper should refuel your tanks so that you can crop all night long if you want. Brunch will be between 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (a continental breakfast will be available earlier if you wish). We will serve a hearty lunch and dinner at 7:00 p.m. with plenty of snacks throughout the day and evening to keep your creativity at full power. We will serve brunch on Sunday. Departure time is Sunday at 1:00 p.m. This weekend you can scrapbook until your eyes refuse to focus, sleep a few winks, and start again. We are sure you will go home with completed pages or even whole finished albums if you want. Midweek retreats work the same as the weekends. You can arrive at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Departure is 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. All meals will be on the same schedule – the only schedule you have while you are here. You do not need to be a scrapbooker to spend a weekend at Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. We can also accommodate hobbies such as stamping, beading, knitting, quilting, cross stitch, sewing, etc. Our tables are large enough for almost any hobby. We do not, however, have supplies for any crafts other than scrapbooking.
We have a small store in our cropping room should you run out of something or decide that you need to add a few more embellishments We have adhesives, papers, markers, brads, flowers, ribbons, buttons, and more embellishments. Enough to make sure that you will not run out of the basic necessities plus a little more. We do not want you to go home with uncompleted projects. |
