Do I have to come with a group or can I come by myself?
You can most definitely come by yourself. If you choose to come by yourself, we promise you will leave with new friends. If you want to come with friends, please be sure that you all schedule your weekend at the same time to insure that we are able to accommodate you on your preferred weekend.
What time is check in and check out?
You may check in at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Check-out time is 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Arrangements can be made for a later departure time if you would want to stay awhile in order to put the finishing touches on a few pages. We would ask that you have your personal things removed from within the house by checkout time, however. Midweek guests may check in at 1:00 p.m. on Monday with check-out time being 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
When are you open for guests?
Kansas Keepsakes Retreat is open for scrapbooking guests 50 weekends a year with the exception of Easter weekend and the weekend closest to Christmas. Arrival time is 1:00 p.m. on Friday and departure is 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. We will have a midweek retreat once a month. Please check calendar for dates. Arrival time for the midweek guests is 1:00 p.m. on Monday with scheduled departure at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
What do I need to bring to the retreat?
Although we have a huge assortment of scrapbooking tools and equipment for your use while you are a guest at Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc., you will want to bring your own personal supplies and basic scrapbooking tools because there is plenty of room for everything on our 8-foot cropping tables. Remember, each guest gets an 8-foot table all to herself, an ergonomic office chair on casters, an OTT natural light lamp, extra plug ins, a large wastebasket, and a spillproof drink holder.

Does Kansas Keepsakes have supplies for sale?
We have a small store in our cropping room for your convenience. We have adhesives, papers, markers, brads, flowers, ribbons, buttons, and more embellishments. Enough to make sure that you will not run out of the basic necessities plus a little more. We do not want you to go home with uncompleted projects. Remember, we do not have a scrapbooking store in Lyons so we strongly recommend that you bring all your personal supplies and basic scrapbooking tools that you will need during the weekend.
How much does a weekend cost at Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc.?
We charge $275.00 for a weekend at Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. You will need to send a $75.00 non-refundable deposit with your completed reservation form in order to hold your preferred weekend. Sorry, we cannot hold a reservation without a deposit. The balance of your weekend is due 30 days before your scheduled stay. The midweek retreat price and policies are the same as for the weekends.
What can I expect during my weekend?
You will have unlimited use of the cropping area from 1:00 p.m. on Friday until departure at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. We will fix you five great meals beginning on Friday evening through Sunday brunch, numerous snacks, and unlimited beverages (regular and diet soda, tea, coffee, bottled water). We have four attractively decorated bedrooms with three comfortable single beds in each, new mattresses and linens, big thick bath towels, and five bathrooms. Our dining and living rooms are beautiful. Hostesses will be on the premises at all times to care for your every need. Midweek retreats work the same as the weekends. You can arrive at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Departure is 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. All meals will be on the same schedule – the only schedule you have while you are here.
Do you have midweek retreats?
Yes! One week of each month we will have a midweek retreat, Monday through Wednesday, because we realize that some people are unable to come during the weekend for one reason or another. Prices and policies for the midweek retreats are the same as for the weekends. Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. is open 50 weekends of the year – all except Easter weekend and the weekend closest to Christmas.

Can I crop for just the day?
At this time we are not offering cropping days, but please continue to check our website as we may be doing so in the future.
How many people can you accommodate?
Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. can accommodate 12 guests. We have four bedrooms with three twin beds in each. NO SHARING OF BEDS!! We try to place guests with their friends whenever possible so be sure to let us know who you would want to room with when you send in your reservations. We have twelve 8-foot tables so each guest gets her own 8-foot workspace.
Where will I park when I get to Kansas Keepsakes Retreat?
We have ample off-street parking for a number of vehicles. I do not see that parking would ever be a problem for you.
What is there to do in Lyons, Kansas?
Lyons Kansas is a quiet little town. We love Lyons because it is small and friendly. People actually speak to you when you walk down the street. At Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. we have created a place where you can get some serious scrapbooking done and have fun socializing and relaxing. Should you need a break, we are 32 miles from Hutchinson (lots of antique stores), 30 miles from McPherson (a crafty town), and 30 miles from Great Bend (a great scrapbooking store).
Is there smoking allowed?
We do have smoking areas outside the house where you can sit on the front porch or under the shade trees on the large back deck.
Are there scheduled events during the weekends at Kansas Keepsakes Retreat?
Meals are at scheduled times. No other activities are scheduled as this is your weekend to do as you please, when you please. You can crop a lot and sleep a little or sleep a lot and crop a little – the decision is yours.
Can you accommodate crafts other than scrapbooking?
Absolutely. At Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. we can also accommodate hobbies such as stamping, beading, knitting, quilting, cross stitch, sewing, etc. Our tables are large enough for almost any hobby. We do not, however, have supplies for any crafts other than scrapbookers.
Can I come by the property on the weekend to check out the facility?
No! As a courtesy to our guests, no one other than our guests are allowed to come to Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc. during the weekend. We will be happy to show you around during the week when guests are not here as we are very proud of all the hard work we have done and all we have to offer at Kansas Keepsakes Retreat, Inc.
I plan to fly in from out of state to attend your retreat. How far is the nearest airport?
We are conveniently located approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Mid Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas; 4 hours from KCI in Kansas City, Missouri. Both are easy, pleasant drives.
